Adding the Photos Tab Back to Your Facebook Page

If you're like me, you probably find that Facebook changes so quickly that it's hard to keep up.  Sometimes, it seems something disappears for no reason.  And Facebook's user interface is often very confusing; finding the right control panel is daunting, to say the least.

Recently, I decided that I wanted to add some portfolio photos to my company's Facebook page.  That's easy enough... but for some reason, the Photos link was no longer in the menu in the left sidebar. 

WHERE DID THE PHOTOS BUTTON GO?!?!?  It's possible that I deleted it at some point, because I didn't have any photos other than my logo and a picture of myself.

When I did a quick Google search looking for a solution, I found that all of the advice was for a previous iteration of the Facebook experience... none of the options mentioned were even available in my control panels.

Here's a quickie look into controlling those navigation elements.

First, go to your company page.  In the upper righthand corner, press the "Edit Page" button.

On the follow page, press the "Apps" link in the left sidebar menu.

On the following page, you'll see all the applications you've given access to your Facebook page.  This is also where all the default Facebook apps hang out.  Find "Photos", and press "Edit Settings".

On the pop-up dialog box, press "add".

That's it; Photos should now show up in the menu for everyone who views your page.  To remove items form that menu, it's a little simpler.  Just press the "Edit" link below the menu.

Then click the "x" to the right of whatever you need to remove.

I realize these Facebook tutorials might seem like pretty easy stuff.  But when you're in a pinch, it's a time-saver if you don't have to wade through all the admin pages.
